The spillway at the Ft. Peck Dam. The dam is the largest earthern dam in the United States. Completed in 1940 on the Missouri River near Glasgow, in northern Montana it created Ft. Peck Lake. The dam is 21,026 feet long and 250 feet high. After the spring floods of 2011 the Army Corps of Engineers estimates they need 225 million dollars for repairs but only have 46 million for short tern fixes.
